"I see no possibility of playing cricket any more. I was playing Ranji only to keep myself fit for the IPL. So I will not play competitive cricket again," Ganguly told Headlines Today.
Ganguly, who had doubled his base price to $400,000, was not selected by any franchises including his former club Kolkata Knight Riders during the auction held early last month.
He added: "I was a bit surprised but honestly I have no idea why I was not picked. I would love to know the reasons but so far I haven't been told."
The most successful India captain retired from Tests after the match against Australia in Nagpur in November 2008, nearly a year after playing his last one-day international against Pakistan at Gwalior, but continued to play in the domestic Ranji tournament for West Bengal.
He has now hinted at taking up cricket administration or a coaching role.
"I would love to be involved in administration but I have to think about it," he said. "I have to take a decision. I am also open to the idea of coaching the Indian team." Source by: daily mirrror
