No Lankan casualties reported from Libya attack - EAM According to the Ministry of External Affairs, so far no reports have been received regarding any Sri Lankan casualties as a result of the air strikes on Libya carried out by western nations lead by America.


With the internal clashes within Libya escalating, some 800 Sri Lankans had been brought back to the country, the Ministry stated while adding that, information has been received that around 400 more Sri Lankans are still in Libya.

The External Affairs Ministry says that it is inquiring into these Lankans through the Sri Lankan Embassy in Libya.

Meanwhile, a group of representatives have been deployed to Bahrain from the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait in order to find out if any Sri Lankans have been harmed due to the protests taking place in Bahrain.

Reports state that around 12,000 Sri Lankans are presently occupied in Bahrain.
