The Health Ministry has failed to implement in Sri Lanka the Dengue control methods followed by other countries, says the Government Medical Officers Association. The Association’s Assistant Secretary Dr. Upul Gunasekera says that the current steps taken by the Ministry is inadequate. He said that public participation is vital to bring this disease under control. Medical attention being delayed to those who are afflicted has contributed to the higher death rate of dengue patients, Dr. Gunasekera told Adaderana.
