Uva PC polls nominations from June 17 to 24

Nominations for the Uva Provincial Council polls will be accepted from Wednesday (June 17) and will end at noon on June 24. Accepting of deposits from independent groups will end at 12 noon on June 23, says the Elections Secretariat. The Elections Commissioner is to announce the date of polls after nominations close.
The UPFA, UNP and JVP are contesting both the Moneragala and Badulla districts, while a number of political parties are contesting under the UPFA ticket in an alliance, Elections Secretariat sources said.
