Aug 12, 2009 (LBO) - The head of Sri Lanka's defence establishment, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, has been appointed to the board of Apollo hospital, a privately built hospital which is now controlled by a state-run insurer.
Rajapaksa, a brother of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, is the secretary to the defence ministry and seen as an architect of the military campaign that defeated the Tamil Tigers in May.
The Lanka Hospitals Corporation, which owns Apollo hospital, said in a stock exchange filing Rajapaksa became a director with the appointment of a new board representing its controlling shareholder Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation. Source by: daily mirror
