No moral right to hold another Presidential election, JVP tells President

Mahinda Rajapaksa has no moral right to hold another Presidential election as he had already pledged to abolish the Presidency before his term ends, says the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP). In a letter to President Mahinda Rajapaksa, JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva states that the attempt to hold a Presidential election even when two more years of the term remains and casting aside the MoU signed with the JVP on behalf of the country and without any regard to the mandate he had already received tantamount to an unethical act that goes against the mandate.
