Lahore attack suspect nabbed

Pakistani police on Monday claimed to have arrested an activist of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi on suspicion of involvement in a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in March last year.
Superintendent of Police Omar Virk said that the Crime Investigation Agency had arrested the suspect identified as Qari Omar Arbab in Lahore."The suspect belongs to the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and works for the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Explosive materials were recovered from him," Virk said.

Eight persons were killed and over 20, including several Sri Lankan players, were injured when a group of heavily armed terrorists ambushed the cricket team's motorcade at a busy traffic roundabout in Lahore on March 3, 2009. (Source: Sify NewsI)
